Establecer relaciones de cooperación con organizaciones que preservan los deportes y juegos tradicionales

Japan, the oldest continuous nation in the world, has many traditional sports and games.

However, many of them have declined over time, and some are even on the verge of being forgotten. Our mission at ICTSG is to promote their preservation and revitalization so that these traditional sports and games can be passed down to future generations, and to organize this information into a database.

Our mission requires thorough research on traditional sports and games, as well as close collaboration with preservation organizations and local governments responsible for these activities.

Among traditional sports, popular and well-known ones like sumo, judo, kendo, and karate are likely to continue thriving. However, there are many others, such as Gicchou (ball stick), Dakyuu (hitting ball), bamboo sumo, kusarigamajutsu (chain sickle techniques), and juttejutsu (truncheon techniques), that also require promotion and preservation.

As for games, traditional ones like karuta, hanafuda, and sugoroku, which were once found in every household, have been largely replaced by digital games. The sight of children playing with hagoita (battledore) or spinning tops during New Year's festivities has also disappeared.

ICTSG JAPAN aims to preserve and promote sports and games that have declined due to being left behind by the times, by building close cooperative relationships with relevant private and public organizations. This is the priority of our project. ...
