What is ICTSG?
The ICTSG (International Council of Traditional Sports and Games) is an international governing body established by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) to support traditional sports and games (TSG) at a global level, with the purpose of protection and promotion.
ICTSG JAPAN, a general incorporated association, is the Far East branch of ICTSG, established in August 2023 through the efforts of Yuko Baba, a member of its international headquarters.

Many TSGs (Traditional Sports and Games) from countries and regions around the world belong to the world's cultural heritage, and TSGs can be an effective tool for promoting peace, as they contribute to the important elements of communication such as mutual understanding and respect.
UNESCO's activities focus on advocacy to protect, promote and develop the TSG, thereby contributing to international cultural development.
ICTSG is working to list TSGs in countries and regions around the world, centralize data such as knowledge and information that will lead to their development and promotion, and share it worldwide.The goal is to advocate the importance of respecting cultural diversity and identity in today's globalized society, and to find solutions by raising awareness.
